Microlearning is a great solution for certain training needs. It can be much more engaging and much less expensive than most traditional eLearning solutions. Microlearning solutions offer topical, bite-sized chunks to learners. There are lots of new and unconventional ways to create microlearning and I’ll show you one.
Gender-Inclusive Language – A 7taps Course
Here is my microlearning course on gender-inclusive language. It was one of the four shortlisted winning entries of the first 7taps Course Creation Contest. Though I didn’t win the iPad pro, I did get to learn and practise creating effective microlearning.
7taps is a platform that enables you to create mobile-first and graphic-rich micro-courses in minutes. It’s been created with the millennials and zoomers in mind, but I can assure you that people of all generations love it.

Web Accessibility: A Short Primer
This course was featured on the 7Taps website too. It all started at one of the monthly sessions of the Instructional Designers of India (IDI) group, where a few of us IDs collaborated on a learning session on Accessibility. Organizing this session really helped me learn a lot about web accessibility and gave me a fresh perspective. The most important lesson I learned was about why we need to design with accessibility in mind.
When we design accessible products, including accessible e-learning solutions, we design better products. When we use an accessible product, (even if we do not have a disability), we have a better experience. And if we do suffer from some disability, temporary or permanent, we are not excluded from the experience.
I designed this primer on web accessibility as a starting point for anyone interested in the topic.
